HOST / Instructor - Jenny Heaslip
Hi, my name is Jenny and I am from Brisbane Australia. I am an avid scrapbooker and photographer which means I have a lot of photos so I needed a way to get as many photos on a layout as I could. So, I started to create my interactive layouts which allowed me to not only scrap 20 to 30 photos at a time but I also got to see both sides of double sided scrapbook paper. I love when people “explore” my pages and discover all the hidden “openable” or “liftable” components. I also love to scrap traditional layouts with multiple photos and always challenge myself to use as much of a paper pack as possible. I am also the Australian distributor for South African company Celebr8 and enjoy teaching classes with their amazing collections.
You can find me on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/JennyHeaslipScrapbooker/
Hi I’m MadelaineDu Toit, also known as the “Madscrapper” and I love to be creative. The scrapbooking bug caught me in 2008 and is my personal escape from the hustle and bustle of life where I can relive and preserve my memories as often as I wish using my favourite photos.
I am a former primary school teacher and I still Iove to educate and inspire others to find their own creativity and am grateful for all the people I have met on my paper craft journey. I am in love with mixed media, layering and I love fussy cutting! It’s my therapy.
I am originally from South Africa and have been in beautiful New Zealand for almost 5 years. I live in windy Wellington with my amazing husband and two active teenagers. My daughter Hayden is 15 and my son Rogan is 14 (mostly my models in all my layouts).
I have been a guest designer on the Celebr8 South Africa Design Team until I left South Africa in 2019, my work was featured in several issues of Scrap Affairs Magazine and I have taught classes at retreats and designed kits and taught classes in Johannesburg and Wellington. I taught at SENZ North 2021. Since moving to NZ I am a full time design team member for Celebr8 Australia, Uniquely Creative team and a former 3 Quarter Designs design team member. I taught in Brisbane 2022 and got to meet a few Australian ladies. I also taught two virtual retreats for Hillbilly Scrappin’ in 2024 and I am very excited to teach at this amazing retreat using my favourite Celebr8 products.
You will need to bring along a normal basic scrapbooking tool kit. Similar to what you would bring to any retreat.
Items to definitely include:
- craft matt – needs only to be a small A4 mat but something to use with your craft knife.
- craft knife
- small scissors (blades to be no longer than 4″)
- edge distressor
- adhesives….lots of them (include tape runners/adhesive tape and glues for embellishments)
Optional Extra’s (not necessary but certainly helps if you have them
- mini mister
- apron
- baby wipes (to clean up your area and hands) – no taps in the conference room to wash hands.
You will be given a kit for each class that is included with this cruise.
Feel free to bring along any other project you may be working on. 24/7 Access to the conference room during the cruise.
Closer to the sailing date I will give you photograph requirements which you can either bring from home or cut up white card stock to relevant sizes so you can use on layouts and replace with a real photo when you have a suitable one.
These more details class requirements (if any) will be given out closer to the cruise.
