Level of Experience Required

Regardless of the level of scrapbooker you are, the classes have been designed with that in mind.  If you are a beginner then you will be able to keep things simple and for those advanced paper crafters the options are there for you to take it to the next level with the addition textures of background stamps and templates etc.

You will need to bring along a normal basic scrapbooking tool kit.  Similar to what you would bring to any retreat.

Items to definitely include:

  • craft mat – needs only to be a small A4 mat but something to use with your craft knife.  Moreso required to protect the tables onboard
  • craft sheet – to spray mists onto (usually those brown blending sheets)
  • craft knife (optional) – probably not necessary if you fussy cut with small scissors
  • paper trimmer – prefer you all to have one.  If sharing only do so between two as this will hold you up in class.
  • *** SMALL scissors (blades to be no longer than 4″) pack these in with your toiletries.
  • edge distressor
  • black/white gel pens
  • adhesives….lots of them  (include tape runners/adhesive tape and glues for embellishments, shells/starshifh)
  • Glue PEN (for adhering fussy cut shapes and die cuts)
  • Walnut distress Ink and Blending tool (my go to for inking edges) – if you have another preference then that is OK too.
  • Old Credit Card or palette knife for modelling/texture paste
  • Acrylic block – for clear stamps
  • baby wipes (to clean up your area and hands) – no taps in the conference room to wash hands.

Optional Extra’s  (not necessary but certainly helps if you have them

  • String – great to give a nautical look on any additional layouts you may want to create
  • Glossy Accent – makes cute bubbles and water droplets if you want them
  • Derivan Light Modelling Paste (or something similar) – WE WILL DEFINITELY BE USING THIS IN CLASSES so if you want to do additional layouts using techniques from classes it may pay to have some…
  • Apron

– Any of your favourite dies (we will have a machine in the room
– Texture background Stamps – bring along your favourites if you want to take some of the layouts to the next level.  You will be given a couple but if you are like me you may have a few favourites.
– Favourite wash tapes are great for albums and pocket pages (yes you will be doing some as there is no way we can scrap all the photos you will take)
– Inks for colouring chipboard. I will supply what you need for class but you may want to do other pages besides mine..

You will be given kits for each class so its not necessary to bring along other scrapbooking products unless you have something specific in mind you want to work on whilst away.
