Cardmaking Cruise (Sth Pacific) – April 2018

5th – 16th April, 2018

Join me and the gorgeous Katrina Thompson on this card making cruise aboard the Voyager of the Seas  and get a glimpse of what the South Pacific islands have to offer.

Katrina’s cards are stunning and she has some wonderful classes to share with you all.   So why not get a few of your friends and book together for 11 days of cruising, exploring beautiful islands and creating some inspiring card projects.

Book in early to avoid missing out as we are only taking limited numbers.

By pressing the  BOOK ME IN button – the requested details will be sent to Melissa Kennedy and Geelong Travel, who will then contact you to collect further details and payment of your deposit. No actual money is transferred over this website.

Hi everyone.

My name’s Katrina and I live north of Brisbane in Queensland, Australia.

I’ve been creating for many years and have focussed on paper based projects for near 15 years now. I had a Stamping and Scrapbooking store until more little babies came along to fill up my world and since then, still incorporating that creativity into my life, I have been teaching and working at a variety of Brisbane stores.

I love the opportunities to design, share and learn with you all through teaching and am thrilled to be asked to tutor on board for the April 2018 – South Pacific and Fiji Cruise. I can’t imagine a better environment to be inspired and create in.

I’m primarily a card maker and enjoy the challenge of creating different styles of cards to send your greetings and messages. My style is best represented by ‘Multilayered’, ‘Classic’, ‘Shabby Chic’. I’m a little grunge/texture/stamping sometimes too. There’s always a chance to try new techniques and incorporate them it to your own styling. I don’t like to rule anything out, you never know how it may inspire you!

Receiving a handmade card is a gift in itself. Knowing how much work handcrafter’s put into their projects, we want it to be enjoyed for some time to come. That’s why it’s rewarding to create in varied forms, like book arts, boxes, tags or hanging and folded cards.

It has been more recently that I have taught at larger events like Workshop Wonders and the Brisbane Scrapbook and Papercraft Expo 2016. I was a finalist in the Cardmaker of the Year 2015 and have had work published in various Australian magazines. I am currently on the Couture Creations Magazine and Roundtable teams and the Meg’s Garden Design Team.

Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me and I hope to see you for our adventuring. K x

This information will be provided to booked in guests closer to the travel date.

You will need to bring along a normal basic scrapbooking tool kit.  Similar to what you would bring to any retreat.

Items to definitely include:

  • craft matt – needs only to be a small A4 mat but something to use with your craft knife.
  • craft knife
  • small scissors (blades to be no longer than 4″)
  • edge distressor
  • adhesives….lots of them  (include tape runners/adhesive tape and glues for embellishments)

Optional Extra’s  (not necessary but certainly helps if you have them

  • mini mister
  • apron
  • baby wipes (to clean up your area and hands) – no taps in the conference room to wash hands.

You will be given kits for each class so its not necessary to bring along other scrapbooking products unless you have something specific in mind you want to work on whilst away.

Closer to the sailing date I will give you photograph requirements which you can either bring from home or cut up white card stock to relevant sizes so you can use on layouts and replace with a real photo when you have a suitable one.
